Biography
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada and owner of the prestigious Lydian Sound recording studios,Stuart
Steinhart is an incredibly gifted musician and composer. An artist whose busy career up until just a few
years ago, when he started to concentrate most of his efforts into producing more of his own projects,
something that was greatly encouraged by his fellow musicians, was spent performing, writing and recording
for many other Canadian artists, whose projects went on to receive numerous award winning albums.
Greatly impressed by superior vocal work and an amazing ability to write beautiful phonetics that could take
a composition to another level, Stuart was inspired to compose a collection of songs for long time friend,
Canadian Jazz vocalist Nura, and produce an album that would not only showcase her incredible talents but
at the same time allow himself to stretch out musically on the bass in a ways he had not been able to do
before.
NURA (self-titled) was released in 2003 and went on to received major airplay across North America and
Europe with multiple jazz nominations and awards recognition for Best Song/Album of the year.
Next with the intention of producing a solo album, armed with a personal passion for the study of music
combined with a strong background in technology and creative musical experimentation, Stuart set out to put
together a group of musicians that would best suit the type of compositions he was working on, a collection of
songs that would document a personal journey to date.
The result- titled “EDIFICATION” an extremely well executed piece of work showcasing Stuart’s amazing
talents. Featuring world-renowned musicians Tom Scott on Saxophone, Don Grusin on Piano, Vinnie
Colaiuta on Drums, Luis Conté on Percussion, with David Blamires & Nura on vocals. (All phonetics written

From beginning to end you are taken on a seamless journey into many the facets of jazz. From the smooth
grooves, beautiful ballads and quiet solo tracks, to more scenic and epic pieces like Soar, The Dream and
Blackout…This album has a lot to offer the listener.
